Right In Florida

Location: North Central Florida, United States

I'm an aging boomer, white male (cue scary music); not religious, mostly conservative. Married to the same woman forever. No kids-by choice (I believe in personal choice in most areas of life). Voted mostly Republican until November 2000 when the national Democrats tried to steal the election in Florida. I promised to never again vote for another Democrat; kept that promise to date.

President Romney

President Romney just issued a presidential decree that there would be no payments on budgeted funding for Planned Parenthood ever during his administration.

He followed this with another presidential decree stating that he would ensure that all federal drug laws were enforced in Colorado to the fullest extent regardless of state law. He then put down his pen and picked up his phone.

Democrats as usual said nothing.

Asked and Answered

Can't wait to see how Democrats will react when a Republican president tries to "adjust" a law enacted by Congress and signed by the president.

Obama has set a precedent for future wannabe tyrants.

I wonder if the Dems will be the same pansies as the current Republicans in Congress?

Yes, that was rhetorical.

UPDATE:
Above I asked how Dems would respond if a Repub Prez decided to adjust, amend and interpret "settled law" and pretty much knew the answer. So did you.

Well, this guy nailed it.

Washington D. C. — In a move certain to please his conservative supporters and infuriate his critics, President Romney announced this afternoon that his administration would make yet another change to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In a terse release, posted without fanfare to the Department of Health and Human Services website, officials revealed that the law’s employer mandate would be suspended until 2016 for all businesses that employ between 50 and 99 people.

The move comes hot on the heels of news that the agency would not be enforcing the provisions in the law that require Americans to buy approved health insurance until after the next election. Now, as then, a simple explanation was forthcoming. “The president won,” a White House aide told National Review Online. “His disdain for the law was ratified by the people. Now he’s going to fundamentally transform it.”

“This is an utter disgrace,” griped Senator Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.). “This law was passed through Congress, signed by the previous president, and upheld by the Supreme Court.”

I was wrong

In early 2007, I had a conversation with a young woman who left Venezuela for college in America.

She explained to me how a thug like Hugo Chavez was able to threaten all opposition, including or especially the news organizations who initially supported him.

Now, Ol' Hugo had the gift of gab and was a "man of the people" but so was Uncle Joe Stalin.

I listened to her but really thought such a takeover of a free people couldn't have happened because someone would have told Hugo "NO, this shall not pass!"  Sorta like what we the people would do here in the good ol' USA.

I was wrong.

Quandry

Is the Bamster a liar or an economic ignoramus? Trick question, I know.

Raising the minimum wages in the areas he has jurisdiction will not bring anyone out of poverty. Hell, most are union jobs now paying much more than minimum.

But the Bamster knows his base is comprised of economic, financial and historical illiterates, so what the hell? The alphabet media will not call him on it.

Whatever

"STARKE -- Juan Carlos Chavez, who raped and murdered 9-year-old Jimmy Ryce in an infamous 1995 crime in the Redland, said nothing as he went to his death on a chilly, damp Wednesday night in North Florida.

Chavez’s last statement came in a rambling handwritten note penned hours before his execution. In it, he made no apologies to the family he tore apart. Nor did he claim any innocence.

Instead, the brutal child-killer proclaimed his religious faith and wished Christ’s love on those who “in their pain desire my death.”
*******
Whatever.

That's between the murderer and his god. I'm just glad the bastard is finally dead. Took damned long enough.
