You just gotta love those patriotic Dems. They do respect the military and value military service.
Just ask retired Gen. Wesley Clark, an Obama supporter, patriotic Democrat and military supporter.
Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, a former Democratic presidential candidate now supporting Barack Obama, said Sunday John McCain's military service does not automatically qualify him to be commander in chief.
Underscoring during a national television appearance a position he has been expressing for several weeks, Clark said performing heroic military service is not a substitute for gaining command experience.Somehow he didn't say what command experience his man Barry has, but I'm sure it's exceptional. After all, he had no problems serving under Bill "The Commander" Clinton. He was also supportive of John "Ouch, I Got a Splinter in my Arm" Kerry, who had loads of command experience in a boat-for 3 months.
You just gotta hand it to these Dems. Their position over the importance of military experience is, how shall we say it...subject to nuance.
Just some recent history:
1992: war hero George HW Bush v. draft dodger Bill Clinton
1996: draft dodger Bill Clinton v. war hero Bob Dole
2000: military journalist Al Gore v. fighter pilot George W Bush
2004: fighter pilot George W Bush v. "war hero" John Kerry
2008: war hero John McCain v. "cut and run" Barry Obama
From "draft dodger" to "cut and run": quite the military range these Dems have.
But do I question their patriotism?
Hell, no! I have no questions...no questions at all...about whether they are patriots.
