Right In Florida

Motto: This is what happens when Insanity and Banality come together.

Name:
Location: North Central Florida, United States

I'm an aging boomer, white male (cue scary music); not religious, mostly conservative. Married to the same woman forever. No kids-by choice (I believe in personal choice in most areas of life). Voted mostly Republican until November 2000 when the national Democrats tried to steal the election in Florida. I promised to never again vote for another Democrat; kept that promise to date.

What do you want from me...blood?

I gave blood again today. First time they've taken it in almost a year and a half.

I used to give all the time, but then I had high blood pressure (165/105) and they refused me several times. I finally stopped trying, even when my blood pressure got back under control.

This time when the call went out, I answered. Nothing heroic, but it does take an hour of your time. Hardly a major deal and it's something almost all of us can do.

For some reason they are now giving presents for doing a good thing. Gift cards and gift certificates worth $20? And a t-shirt. They must be hard up, but the gifts are sponsored by restaurants and businesses, so it's a good deal for them too.

Nothing special, just something I did today.
