Murder in The Villages-A Little More Justice
The principal murderer was finally sentenced on Monday. He got the death penalty.
OCALA — Renaldo McGirth was only 18 years old when he brutally took the life of Villages resident Diana Miller in July 2006. Now, less than two years later, a judge has decided McGirth will pay for that crime with his own life.
McGirth, who just turned 20 last week, becomes the youngest person to join the 385 people currently on Florida's death row and one of the youngest men since 1976 to be sentenced to death in the state.

McGirth also received life sentences, with a minimum mandatory 25 years, on the attempted murder and robbery convictions. He was sentenced to 15 years for fleeing and eluding. Lambert said these three sentences will be served concurrently - meaning the clock will run on all of them simultaneously.
It's not true justice. But it's as close as we'll get with this killer.
The second killer has already been sentenced to life in prison.
And the third of the murderous trio will be in court sometime in the future. He first pled guilty and gave evidence against the other two. But then decided to recant so maybe he can get a jury a sympathetic jury.
Prosecutors say McGirth attempted to rob the Millers at their home in The Villages with two co-defendants, Jarrord Roberts, 22, and Theodore Houston, 19. Roberts was sentenced to life in prison last month for attempted armed robbery with a firearm. Houston still awaits a trial, after testifying against his two co-defendants.
And what about dear daughter Sheila?
Although McGirth and Roberts also were charged with kidnapping the Millers' daughter, Sheila, both were acquitted on that charge, after it was discovered that Sheila was a friend of the defendants who had allowed them into her parents' home.

Yes....What about DEAR Sheila??? Have they done ANYTHING with her yet?
Much Love Florida~
Known them for 30
No they haven't. And I don't think they will.
Ya know Florida...This is a tragedy turned into one's worst nightmare. I cannot believe that they will just let her slip through the crack(s). I do NOT understand Florida Law. Are the law makers, investigators, police and courts that blind?
This is SICKENING!!!!
I hope all is well with you and yours.
Stay Well

Known...
I don't know about Fla justice so much as a deal with the devil. The prosecution thought they couldn't get convictions without her testimony against the killers. So...she had to be a victim.
The killers' defense attorneys showed the jury what a sham that was and the jury found them not guilty of kidnapping.
But the prosecutors were stuck...they couldn't admit that that their scenario was obvious crap. And the defense did a poor job of showing the obvious holes in that scenario. Probably because they could not admit the killers were in any guilty.
Take heart...there is a third trial that will happen this year. One of the killers took a deal and testified against the other two. Then he reneged on his plea and will get a trial. He didn't seem to know much about Sheila however but maybe something will come out in this trial.
Thank you for the update Florida. I can only hope something will come out of this that will prove she is the mastermind behind this.
God I was just looking at the pic I sent you of Jim and Diana, and looking at the pics of him in the newspapers...What a difference, I am saddened to see him like that. He looks almost lost, which I am sure he is without Diana.
I know other familly members are down there and around to help with his care.
Jim...We LOVE you and Diana you will forever be in our hearts.
Thanks again Florida,
Keep me posted.
Much Love~
