Yet Another Travolta Connection
It looks like "Dallas" the movie is alive again and John Travolta still wants to bring it to Ocala."
'Dallas,' is in fact, back from the dead," Entertainment Weekly reports. "Only John Travolta remains attached to play J.R. Ewing." Also expected to be in the cast are Shirley MacLaine (Miss Ellie) and Luke Wilson (Bobby).
Last year, "Dallas" was set to begin filming but plans fell through. Travolta, though, has long been committed to the project and has said repeatedly he would like to film it in Marion County. He owns a home in Anthony.

Travolta seems determined to do "Dallas" and wants to do it here. New Orleans and Dallas are among the cities also competing for the movie location. Ocala is considered a long shot.
Long shot, huh? And here we thought we were Hollywood East-ish. Well, of course it's a long shot. It's just kinda nice just to mention our connection with celebrity. Makes us feel...special. (And not in the usual 'short bus' kind of way.)
